Breastfeeding

Does this bra exist?

I've been wearing Bravado body silk bras since giving birth.  They are great and(mostly) comfortable but the one issue I have is the  uniboob.  I have large breasts (40F) and they get pushed together.  Also the bra isn' t very supportive so I end up not looking so great in form-fitting clothes.  I tried the Bravado Bliss bra which is a wireless molded cup bra but still had the uniboob issue.

So, anyone want to recommend a comfortable nursing bra that won't push the boobs together?  What about an underwire bra? I know they can cause problems with blocked ducts but does it happen a lot?  Underwire bras with soft cotton cups have always offered the most support and comfort in the past.

  • This stuff about underwires causing clogged ducts is a myth if you're wearing the right size bra in the first place (there was even a study done to back it up as being a myth)...  Even then clogged ducts usually have nothing to do with the bra being an underwire.  With F's I don't know how you've made it this long without making the switch to an underwire for the fact that no piece of fabric alone can support the weight! (I'm an FF)...

Elomi makes the most supportive underwire nursing bra I've ever seen.  Nordstroms is where you'll need to order it from but I doubt you'll find anything else out there that will get the job done as well.  Anita also makes a decent underwire nursing bra that is a little more comfortable but not as firm of a support as the Elomi....Also from Nordstroms...

40G - I've had great luck with this particular Anita bra.

I tried this one on in store and bought it in white, then bought the identical one on Amazon for half the price in black and they are all I wear. They're really comfortable. I tried a slightly different Anita bra from Amazon, and the wire doesn't lay quite as flat as this one does, but it's still more comfortable than any of the other nursing bras I bought (and now never wear). They aren't cotton cups, and the fabric is very thin so if you're cold everyone will see unless you're wearing a pad, but I've found that to be true with all nursing bras. There is no uniboob issue at all, although in terms of perkiness, it's not as good as a regular bra. But again, I find this to be true with all nursing bras.

I rotated through a few nursing tanks in the beginning, but as soon as I started wearing real nursing bras, they all had underwire. I'm just not comfortable all day without a wire. I've never had clogged duct issues because of it.
