Freezing Pads After Delivery

I've heard of putting witch hazel on a pad and then freezing it to use when you're healing.  This may be a dumb question, but does this go directly on your skin?  Doesn't it hurt?

    It feels heavenly  =)  Cold, but that's the idea.

    It sounds heavenly now... I can only imagine what it would be like after delivery. Might be better than a margarita, but I'll have to wait to confirm that.

    I can only imagine how much my poor poor vag is going to hurt after having this baby?.I think I?m already starting to crave those frozen pads

    I have heard of doing it with diapers because they just stay in the jelly form and dont freeze hard.  I wonder if the pads do the same!

    The witch hazel pads are heavenly after delivery and it doesn't hurt in the slightest bit.  In the hospital they also take infant pampers and cut a slit in one end and fill it with ice.  I made those on a daily basis at home for the first week and it felt so good.
