Parenting after 35

We're moving tomorrow

3 years ago, when I was 6 or so months pregnant, we moved into our little townhouse. I went into labor here, brought DS home from the hospital to this place, he took his first steps, flashed his first smile and spoke his first words here.

Change is good but bittersweet.

Re: We're moving tomorrow

  • The key word in your post is "little."   Just like boys, things need to grow!  So does your abode.

    Enjoy the new digs.

  • It is bittersweet. We are talking about moving in the next year or so. I know it will be hard to leave but having a bigger place will be even better. Good luck with the move.

  • GL Stever!  I was just thinking how sad it would be if I ever had to move from our house for the very same reasons you just mentioned but I'm a big sap!

Yup to this. I still don't feel like I'm home after three months here, but it's only because of the same reasons you stated. We were there for 9 years. It's still sad. But, I'm slowly starting to enjoy it, and the space. You will too! Enjoy it, crack a bottle of sparkling grape juice and celebrate. And don't disappear for too long, we'd miss you too much!

Good Luck!! We have 2 kids sharing a room, and I have been here for 9 years.  So I am jealous of you. Even though you won't be in the same house, you'll have the memories of those special moments.

  • I heard this at my WW meeting today:  If things never changed, there would be no butterflies.

Best wishes in your new home, and look at it this way- you'll have all those new "firsts" with baby #2 at the new place!
