What do you think? nn Catch. Saw it in a movie (Down with Love) and I instantly fell in love with it. I ran it by some friends, and one friend brought up a very rated R reference for it... I never heard the phrase, myself, but apparently its common?

Re: Catcher?
This. Sorry, it's not good
My first thought was baseball.
I have a lot of gay friends and I've never heard the term catcher used, so I personally don't think that will be a problem.
To me it's not a name. It some one who catches something. The character in the movie didn't have to actually live with the name their whole life.
Hollywood makes up such preposterous names... with the emphasis on "make up." That isn't a name you should use on a real life person.
Keep looking.

My mind immediately went to Catcher in the Rye but was followed up very shortly thereafter with the inappropriate pitcher/catcher reference.
At least I can take solace in the fact that I'm slightly more literary than I am pervy.
That said -- I would definitely not go with Catcher.

This is me too. I have no idea what you are talking about.
I have had enough of the occupational names though, and this to me is the desperate direction they seem to be taking. I'm waiting to meet a little Plumber or Shoemaker. I love a good baseball name, but this is just too much.
