LO has recently been refusing bottles. He's exclusively fed formula so this is starting to become a problem. He's not big on solids either, though he does eat some, I just know he's not eating enough. I called the pedi and they said if it continued for one more day then I should bring him in. She said maybe it was ear-related, like an ear infection? Did any of your LO's stop drinking bottles when they had an ear infection? He's not tugging on his ear, has no fever or anything. He is a little constipated but other than that he seems fine.
I'm taking him in first thing tomorrow morning because I'm just so worried. He only ate 14oz today. Seems like way way too little.
Re: LO refusing bottles, ear infection?
It definitely could be teething. The top two teeth have almost broken skin but not quite. He does have slightly runny eyes now that you mention it. Hmmm. I am for sure taking him in tomorrow! Poor baby, I feel terrible for him, I know something must be going on but I have no clue what.
I BF, but when DD had her ear infection, she refused to nurse. The pedi said the sucking can cause even more ear pain. After her first dose of antibiotic, she was back to nursing like a champ.
Doe your LO have any other symptoms? DD had a fever and was miserable when she had the ear infection, so I knew right away that something was wrong.
Before tubes A would refuse a bottle when he had an ear infection. This weekend he had a block in one of the tubes and an infection behind and he refused to take a bottle. I ended up trying it in a sippy cup without the flow regulator thingy and he took more that way than through a bottle.
It could also be teething
