I like to lurk on my "month board" (September) but lately it's getting depressing. DS is falling farther and farther behind. He only started to bring objects to his mouth about 5 weeks ago, and rolled last week. Meanwhile all of the other babies on his month board are sitting up and starting to the rocking motion on their hands and legs. I know that DS has come a long way and for that I am grateful but I've come to the conclusion that I am going to stop lurking there, and stop comparing DS to them. I am also going to go back to the 3-6 month board because that's where he is developmentally.
End pity party.
Re: Does anyone still follow their "month board"?
I backed away for a while as well. It's still tough sometimes, I mean, I have a 14 month old that can't even sit without support for more than a few seconds. I just remember how far they have come, and the things they have overcome that the rest of those babies didn't. I mean, my kid who can't sit re-grew his frigging tibia! Now that's bad-ass.
Also as time goes on the playing field starts to level out and the range of typical becomes much bigger.
He's behind even for his adjusted age.

We have the same PNP, and I LOVE the ball pit idea. :-)

I understand. Sam didn't bring things to his mouth until he was about 6 months adjusted. I am currently worried about his speech. The worry never ends. I hang around 9-12 instead of toddlers. Good call, mama!
Uh, YEAH. I'd say so! That's awesome!
I'm from the September boards too. It is very upsetting to lurk. DS is behind on sitting and other things. Each baby has his or her own pace. I got unreasonably upset at work one day a while ago when he was still in newborn diapers and most babies were in 2's. That was when I started lurking here more then anywhere else. To be honest I am not really sure where I fit but I know not on the September board.
Indeed.
Amen to all of this!
