My husband and I will find out the gender of our baby next week. I like the name Taytum for a girl and if it's a but he will be Brian III. I'm thinking if it's a boy using Tre as a nickname. I've also gotten some funny looks about Taytum. What do you think?
Re: Looking for some input...
Trey is a common NN for a "third." I think it's fine.
Tatum is spelled incorrectly; maybe that's where the looks are coming from. I think it's a lovely name and have always liked it. A lot of people will cite "tator tots" as a way the name gets made fun of....as if that's some kind of mortifying insult.
Tatum is one of those names I can't make my mind up about, like Sydney. I can't decide if I like it or not. I will say I highly prefer it without the random Y.
Trey/Tre is a totally acceptable NN for a boy who's the third to have the same name.
I agree that the "Tatum" spelling is the way to go.
I've heard of several people using Trey as a NN for a third - I think it makes perfect sense.
Tatum is okay. Please get rid of that extra Y!
I would prefer Trey as the spelling of the NN - Tre looks like a rapper name, for some reason. I've also heard of Tres (said like Trace) as a NN for "the third."
This and I much prefer the nn "Trip" (as in triple) over "Trey" for a III.
Precisely. Tatum isn't my favorite name, but it's 100x better than Taytum. She's going to spend her whole life saying, "no, no, it has a y in it."
Ditto this. Also, Trey might be easier for people to understand as a nn for a boy who's the 3rd. I see 'tree' when it's spelled without the Y.

Yup, this. I also liked pp's suggestion of "Trip" as a nn too.
Your girls name is NMS at all, but its not awful. I think your boy NN is super cute!
