Emma and...

Hi everyone, I'm new to the bump. I currently have a 3 yr old girl named Emma and we are pregnant with our second girl. I am due in 3 weeks and we are having another girl.  We always loved the name Anna after my grandmother but we aren't sure if Anna and Emma are too close for sibling names.  I have looked at twin names and often see Anna and Emma together.  What do you guys think?

Thanks for listeningSmile

Re: Emma and...

  • Personally, I think they are a little too similar. I could see teachers or new acquaintances mixing them up.

I wouldn't side-eye you or judge you or anything, though (especially because I really love the name Anna). If it were me, though, I wouldn't do it.

  • One of my closest friends has daughters name Emma and Anna. I think they go together well without being too similar.  But my opinion may be slightly skewed since I'm used to hearing them as a sibset.  Either way, I think they're both great names!

I immediately though Emma and Kate

  • Emma and Anna are a little close, but nothing cringe-worthy. I really like Anna as a double name, like Anna Kate or Anna Grace.

Other names that I think go well with Emma: Lily, Audrey, Sophie, Lauren, Faith, Caitlin, Molly, Nora

  • Maybe something that incorporates Anna? Annabelle, Annalise, etc.
  • They're a smidge close, but it's not terrible. Both are beautiful names. Is Anne a possibility? That would take out the similarity of the endings. Seriously, though, I wouldn't stress to much about Anna and Emma.
  • I don't think it's too matchy.
