She rolled over probably 4-5 times right before she turned 2 months old (we even have it on video!) but she hasn't rolled over for the past couple of months. It was from her tummy to her back. We give her a lot of tummy time and "play time" but she just seems to content to play with things that are right around her. She is on track developmentally with her fine motor skills (grabbing toys, hands, feet). Do you think this is just a show of her personality? She is just a chill happy baby that smiles all of the time and loves to stare at her 2 year old brother.
I don't want to compare to her older sibling but he was just always (always!) on the move so I'm hoping it's just her chill personality and nothing to be concerned about. Just curious if other mama's out there have the same experience.
Re: 4 months, not rolling over
It sounds like she is happy and fine : ) It's boards like these that make all of us parents paraoid all the time for no good reason.
I read that usually it is anywhere from 4-6 months for rolling. Some children are overachievers and roll sooner. And tummy to back is easier than back to tummy, and will usually occur first. I wouldn't worry just yet, and this is coming from a mommy that had a DD in physical therapy for 2 years for developmental delays. We didn't get DD into PT until she was about 7 months old and couldn't roll from back to tummy and when she sat up her legs were stick straight instead of relaxed and semi circle.
Just mention it at your next well visit child so the pedi can keep an eye on it for the future.
