So during the summer if I have a really great song on the radio or on my Ipod in my truck (I drive an Avalanche with a Bose stereo system so it sounds awesome!!) it isn't unlike me to really crank it up and jam on down the road. It just dawned on me that I won't be able to do that but only if I'm by myself, like on the way to pick up the baby or if I'm out alone. Same with the kind of music that I listen to. I listen mainly to country which is fine for the kiddo, but I do have my fair share of Eminem and other hard core rap that I like too that isn't appropriate for little ears. Wild to think about isn't it? I'm even going to have to change the way I drive....HAHAHAHAHAH!!!!

Re: I love my music....
that's funny that you mention Eminem
I love him.
My fb status last week said I was compiling the world's greatest playlist for LO so I could "train him" to like my music over DH's limited music- I swear he only like 3 songs (red solo cup, sexy and I know it, and right round by flo rida)!
My sister commented right away that LO will be rapping all the lyrics to Eminem before DH can even figure out what he's saying, lol.
I actually made the playlist mostly soothing music and didn't include any rap because I didn't think LO would like it. I made the playlist so he can hear all the songs now and will hopefully recognize them once he's out
and be calmed by them. I think I'll get sick of lullabies pretty quickly and want him to like "real music", too.
I was thinking the same thing the other day! I normally blast my music as I'm driving down the road, and the other day I cranked up a particularly fun song (Somethin' bout a truck....
) and all the sudden I thought to myself-- wow... I won't be able to do this anymore!
At least not till she's older and can appreciate it... lol and I more specifically won't be able to listen to some of my crazy rap stuff either...
DH always liked Rock and I got him into Country & so now we mainly listen to Country but I used to listen to the local KISS FM station and I feel like a lot of the songs are kinda inappropriate for kids... (wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle yeah...lol) my friend's daughter loves that song "I'm sexy and I know it" and while she doesn't connect the dots on the lyrics (she has the kids now 40 version of it, but still hears the regular version on the radio/tv) it's still weird for a 5 year old to be singing that song.... particularly the line, "I've got passion in my pants and I aint afraid to show it..." hahah
Think we'll just stick with country
Crazy!
PS. On another note-- DH was up last weekend early before I woke and when I entered the living room he looked at me seriously and said, "I don't think we should let Morgan watch cartoons...some of this sh!t is seriously weird." HAHHA he had on Cartoon Network and he was pre-screening the shows. I thought it was cute.

HAHAHAHAH!!! I was thinking about that too. Like whatever happened to Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd. Daffy Duck and that whole gang....now THOSE were some saturday morning cartoons. This anime stuff and general weirdness....yea I agree with your DH! I'm going to have to figure out how to get the disney channel to my house I guess....heheheheeh!
Yes! My favorite was the Roadrunner and Wiley Coyote!
This is also one of the reasons I'm stocking up on Blu-Rays of Disney movies. Some of the new stuff is bizarre and I guess I'd like my kid to be exposed to the stuff I was exposed to while growing up...
Some of these cartoons truly are bizarre.
However, I remember begging to watch "The Simpsons" growing up... We could never understand why our parents didn't want us watching it when we were little...but I suppose it's the equivalent of letting your kids watch "Family Guy" in this generation... lol I can see why we had to wait.

My DS has listened to all of my music since in the womb. I used to blast it too, and now I just listen to it loud enough for us to hear & still have a conversation. I skip the songs that have swearing, but otherwise haven't changed what I listen to.
SD came over in December and started singing Sexy & I know it. So now DS sings that. Also I love you like a love song. I listen to country and rock, and have 1000 songs on my ipod, so I don't really listen to the radio. Those were new songs to me.
