stupid ? about freezer meals

I made up about 10+ freezer meals to have on hand for after the baby comes. When we're ready to eat them, do I take them out and thaw them in the fridge or something and then bake them, or can they go straight into the oven? Most of them are in like aluminum pans so I don't think that would be an issue - I'm just wondering about baking time and what not if they are going straight from freezer to oven. Or do you thaw yours first?

Re: stupid ? about freezer meals

  • I am doing a lasagna that I froze this week and am planning on putting it straight into the oven (it's in aluminum).  I was going to probably double the cooking time and put foil over it for the first 30 mins, then take it off for the last 30.  This is just my plan; I'm no expert!
  • I usually thaw them. I find that sometimes if I don't, they don't cook evenly. The edges cook longer than the middle. I also have a hard time guessing how long it will take for it all to be done.

  • I think thawing them would be best.  Otherwise, they probably won't cook very evenly.

  • I never thaw them and just put them in the oven and bake until they are hot in the center.

I made lasagnas this weekend to freeze and I just bake them for about an hr.
