I saw this suggested in a post below for a lo who refuses frozen bm. I plan to freeze my milk so that I'm able to continue nursing when I go back to work. I'd hate for all my pumped bm to be refused! Is it bad to do this milk scalding "just in case"? I'd just hate for all my milk to be wasted if she doesn't like it thawed. Tia!

Re: Scalding the milk?
You only need to do this if you have excess lipase. You can pump some milk and let it sit in your fridge for a few days (up to week) and then taste it. If you have excess lipase it will have a soapy taste. Mine actually starts to develop that taste after just a few hours of being pumped. Then you need to scald it ASAP after pumping and then freeze. But if you don't have excess lipase there is no need to scald, and you'd be killing off some of those magical breastmilk properties, not to mention giving yourself an extra step or 2 in freezing milk.
