tea tree cleaner

I just noticed a bottle of green tea toy cleaner on the container store's website. We currently use only vinegar, baking soda, and lemon for cleaning. Anyone have a DIY tea tree toy cleaner/room spray recipe?

If you mix a tea tree EO with water, what would your ratio need to be for it not to eat away at stuff, but still be strong enough for the antimicrobial benefits?

Thanks!

Re: tea tree cleaner

  • How ironic, I just hopped on here, to ask a similar question lol... A few months back someone had mentioned a general all purpose cleaner that included vinegar and tea tree oil. I made some and now I'm almost out and don't remember what all was in it and how much. I do remember that it was just a few drops of oil though. Hopefully someone will remember this?

  • I do 50/50 vinegar/water + a squirt of natural soap and 30 drops of essential oils. Of those 30 drops, 20 are tea tree and 10 are whatever scent I like/want. I use Sage a lot, lavender, lemon....all have great antimicrobial properties.

    How much water/vinegar?

half water, half vinegar in the spray bottle, though I could probably do 3/4 full of water and 1/4 vinegar. I mix it in either a Rubbermaid spray bottle (cleaning isle at Target) or old Method spray bottles.

  • Okay, thanks.  I need to grab some spray bottles for various stuff around the house.  Just needed to know how big.  :)

since it has soap are you rinsing afterwards? or is the amount of soap so minimal that it can be left on the surfaces?

    Thanks!

I just found this site about the Top 8 Uses of Tea Tree Oil. HTH!

My computer is not letting me make it clicky right now for some reason:
