Alright - DD is definitely teething and also has a cold. I'm wondering if the snotty-ness is due to her teething? Doc said possibly yes, but teething would not cause fever and she has had a low grade on and off the last couple of days. I've been giving her about 2 doses a day of Tylenol for the last two days. A couple times because of the fever and other because she is teething. I can see the tooth that is trying to break through...I'm thinking it has to be painful?!?
She's also not eating well. I don't want to dope her up on Tylenol, especially is she doesn't have fever, but she's not acting like she wants to eat, etc. etc. Would you give Tylenol? I don't want to overdo it on the tylenol...
Also, I've heard conflicting reports on whether or not to use Orajel...do you use it with your LO?
Thanks!
Re: tylenol? orajel? Teething sucks!
I second the Ibuprofen. It helps with the swelling in their gums as well.
I highly recommend Humphreys teething strips - they are all natural, quick to dissolve, and seem to bring instant relief to my daughter when she is teething. Walgreens sells them, I think they're around $5 for a box of 18 strips. This way I can use the Tylenol as a last resort if she gets a fever.
Oh, and as for fever....all doctors swear teething has nothing to do with fever, but EVERY SINGLE MOM that I know has told me their kids have had fevers while teething!
