Watching 'How to murder your wife" last night and that was the lead actress' name. 

 I think it's pretty and different. In my head its pronounced Veer-nuh but I also think it could be pronounce Ver-nuh. What do you think?

I think it would be pronounced Ver-nuh but could see it pronounced the other way. Have seen it spelled as Verna before. Thinkbabynames says its v(i)r-na, but I'm not sure how to read that. Lovely actress!

Eck. I love "old lady" names but this one I just can't get on board with. What about Vera or Veda?

This. I have a friend named this. She doesn't like her name, and even she says she hopes this one dies out with Edna and Mildred. I agree with that.

I've only heard it VER-nuh, and only seen it spelled Verna.

I think it's harsh and fairly ugly. Not worth reviving.
