Can't agree on a name!

My DH and I can't agree on a name for our new daughter. He likes Athena and I like Mina. Both of us are dead set on the name we like, but because of that haven't even considered middle names. Please help ladies!

Those both sound like Greek kind of names to me.  Is having a Greek name important to you both?

That doesn't really matter to us, however my name is Greek. (Eleni) Neither of us have that heritage though. We simply think both names are beautiful

If neither one is willing to bend to the other name, then they should both be scrapped and you guys need to go back to the drawing board. Have you each made a list of some you like to see if there are any similarities?

Even before getting pregnant, we had a boy's name picked out: Giovanni, however we find girls names much much harder to like. I don't want her to be the 4th Ashley or Jennifer or Brittany in her class if you know what I mean.

I prefer Mina but I agree with pp that maybe you scrap both and go back to finding a name you both love.

I agree with this. You both need to love the name! It's be horrible for either of you to feel bitter over something that's supposed to bring you together.

This is the standard advice in this situation... if you can't agree, then scrap em... I know it sucks... and make new lists and start the comparing and crossing off thing all over again.

I also prefer Mina.

How about a compramise just Thena? its kind of like Mina and sorta like Athena or Mila, Mia, Thalia, or Lena those are kind of greek-ish? just some suggestions GL

I was going to suggest Mila too since it seems like a good mix of the two.  Good luck choosing!

I agree with PPs who said to toss out both names and go back to the drawing board!
