Bathing suit WWYD?

We are going on vacation on the 19th.  We will be in Orlando and plan to spend part of one of our days chilling by the pool.  I will be 13 weeks along.  I doubt I will be showing too much, but I doubt my current suits will work.  I think a maternity suit at this point will look just as bad as stuffing myself in one of my current ones.  So, do I buy a suit I will wear maybe one time as a transition?  I found a cute swim dress type suit that I think would work, but come summer and swim season, I will be visibly pregnant and it won't work for any length of time.  Uggh - part of me thinks I should just get a cute sun dress and sit by the pool watching everyone else have fun ::end pity party::

Re: Bathing suit WWYD?

  • I had a tankini that was a little too big pre pregnancy and was able to use that through both of my pregnancies. Maybe get one that's a touch big and hope it's usable throughout?

  • What type of suits do you have? I hate buying them, so I wouldn't bother with a transition suit. Maybe one of those vintage-y one piece suits?  I've seen sundresses with less fabric, but they are still very flattering and trendy!

  • I think tankini would work.  I wore a regular (not maternity) tankini when I was around 32 weeks pregnant with DD and it fit me fine.  My belly just pushed out the top and showed a little underneath it.

  • I have a tankini now that would be the least obnoxious, but still look a size too small in the top and middle.  I am not due until the end of September, so hopefully I can get away with only one maternity suit.  I carried DD everywhere and never had a cute bump or really any bump - I just looked overweight.  I am dreading spending the summer in a bathing suit.

  • Maybe just buy a cheaper tankini at Target and size up.  I got one last year for 25 bucks.  You may be able to wear it longer than you think.

  • I bought this swimsuit last year.  https://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/product/clothes-swims/953678.jsp

I remember reading the reviews and quite a few people bought it while pregnant and it was roomy.  It is an awesome suit.

  • Go to target and get a cheap tankini top that will give you some extra room.
