Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Sunscreen suggestions?

Hey ladies, we're going on a vacation next month and it will be the first time we will use sunscreen. Any suggestions? So far we've only used Burts Bees products and Aquaphor on our 7 month old and his skin seems great.

Thank you  and happy almost Friday!

  • Neutragena...they make a baby version and a regular version that are the same thing in a different color bottle.  The active ingredient is zinc oxide, which is also in a lot of diaper rash creams.  If the above link goes to the post I'm thinking about, it has a lot of great info to guide you in your purchase.  As with everything, read the label before buying.

If all you remember from the above link is sunBLOCK not sunSCREEN, then you'll be okay.

     Thank you for posting this!

  • Thanks ladies, I wasn't aware Burts bees made one and I love Neutrogena that's what I use!
  • Here's some good information on sunscreen safety for babies and children. You can look up different brands and see how safe they are.

We use Blue Lizard baby on our toddler, which has minimal toxic chemicals and works really well.

  • Check ewg.org

There are "great" sunblocks that protect so well from the sun but have tons of harmful ingredients. Ironic! But this organization finds the best ones..they are not easy to find! We have the esse one and the TruKid.
