QOTW: we haven't tried anything too crazy- just the gentle drop into her crib and fingers crossed she stays asleep, which either works or doesn't. but speaking of sleeping, we've had a bad couple nights and apparently it's because...

Updates: we have a double ear infection! found out today at our 9 month WELL check. i think every time we go to the pedi we either have an ear infection or pink eye. oy vey! besides that we are doing fine. she has a tooth coming in on the bottom and is so close to crawling. looking forward to the antibiotics helping and her returning to sleeping through the night!
QOTW: These aren't necessarily considered crazy in my book, but she slept in her swing exclusively for the first 4 months and we swaddled well into her 8th month. Other than that, we've been truly blessed with an amazing sleeper so we haven't had to resort to too many crazy tactics (but I've spent hours sitting in the car in my driveway because I don't want to wake her from a nap).
Updates: She finally got over the most terrible stomach bug I've ever witnessed (5 days worth) and had a double EI at the same time. Hardest week of my life. DH has managed to get the bug now and as of about 10 minutes ago, it seems that I have too. We leave for vacation to Phoenix on Saturday and I'm going to be in my own personal hell if I have this bug on the plane.
She's crawling everywhere, has 6 teeth, pulling up to her knees, and is generally an awesome baby. Looking forward to taking her to her first baseball games this weekend.
QOTW: as a last resort I lay down with him in our bed. Like I'm doing now after he cried for over a hour:/ but he's finally sleeping so I'll take it.
Update: he's awesome, usually sleeps from 6-630p to 530-6a, it's naps that are more of a challenge. But he's still taking 3 naps, I'm thinking that's going to change soon. I think we have some teeth but he refuses to let me look so I'm not positive.
QOTW: When he was itty bitty, we'd put him to sleep in his bouncy in the guest bathroom or the laundry room (with a video monitor on him, obv) b/c they had the best loud white noise with the vent fans on. Worked like a charm.
Updates: We're teething again. Blah. He's had a bit of a cold this last week, but for a while has been back to his standard once-a-night waking, which is awe.some. compared to what he did for the 6-8 weeks he was constantly sick, so yay! I know I'm going to have to start working on putting him down awake so that he can learn to put himself to sleep, but man I love rocking him to sleep and holding him while he's sleeping.
Oh, and how could I forget to tell y'all?!?! At his 9-month well check on Tuesday, he had lost weight again from the week before (only a couple of ounces, which could be attributed to the ginormous dump he took that morning, or the fact that he hadn't eaten right before his appt like before, etc.). Anyway, we were talking about his weight, 2%, blah blah blah. But THEN I went home and checked him on the WHO growth chart, which is a breastfeeding-based chart, and guess what?? He's in the 15%!! I seriously teared up in the middle of my office. I've been sofuckingworried about his weight, and he's not all that much of a peanut when you measure him on the right chart. Hell. Yes.
QOTW: The craziest thing going on right now is what I'm not doing. I haven't had a drop of caffeine since Desmond was born. I'm so paranoid that it will amp him up and he won't sleep. I miss Starbucks SOOOOO much!
Updates: I think I got the first itty bitty smile yesterday

QOTW: I don't know how crazy it is, but he sleeps with 3 lovies (so when he wakes up and rolls over he can find another one) and he sleeps best when he can watch the washing machine. We live in a tiny condo and our front loader is right across the hall from his door. His crib is positioned so he can see out the door. He goes to sleep faster on days when I do laundry. Also, he loves to watch the tumbling in the dryer when he's playing on his floor. Instant calm.
Update: Nothing really. Not sure that its milk that is causing his rash, but we've been dairy free for 2 weeks. I think the daycare must have fed him something wrong on Tuesday though because it flared up again. WE'll figure it out. In the meantime, he's just being cute and working on his first word, which he have determined will be "boob".

My husband spends a lot of time with DS out on the hammock on our screened in porch. DS much prefers being outside, and he likes the rocking motion in that hammock!

Today was his first day in daycare....It's really good today has been hellish or I'd be missing him like crazy. I'm really worried about him napping at daycare. He's not a good napper at all, and I'm afraid he's going to scream every time she tries to put him down.
