Clam Chowder

So we're getting take-out tongiht from a local restaurant that has really good clam chowder.  I was thinking of getting DD this instead of chix nuggets or something of that sort.  Thoughts on this?  She's going to be 17 months old next week.

Re: Clam Chowder

  • Betsy loves creamy soups, but I've avoided this because clams can be kind of tough to chew, and I would consider them a choking hazard.

  • We give DD all sorts of soups, she loves them.  I haven't gotten her any clam chowder though, so scout brings up a good point.
  • I agree I would be afraid of the clams.  What about just a piece of fried flounder?  Mine eats that all the time.

  • Callie has had clam chowder many times and she just turned 1. The clams might be chewy but they're not huge. We had no problem. She actually loves it.

  • My girls love it and eat it all the time.  They've never had a problem with the clams at all.  They're not usually very big.  I definitely don't consider them a choking hazard.
