I put on a prefold on my daughter the other day for kicks and wow was it easy. I had this feeling of satisifaction and pride that I was doing what mothers had been doing for centuries. I originally bought prefolds and purchased a few pockets for my husband to use, then when I saw them, I ended up converting my entire stash to pockets. But today I was organizing my daughters room and I saw the unused covers I had purchased and had diaper regret.
I wished I would have used prefolds for the newborn stage, but I had bought AIO BG XS. Overall, I think I have spent enough money to the point I haven't saved any money by cloth diapering, I'm just scared to add up the numbers. At least i can use the stash for baby #2. We're doing IVF again in a month. wish us luck.
Re: Cd regret - should have used prefolds
Technically, if you want to do it as your grandma did, you need some flats!
Good luck with another baby! Gotta get some mileage out of the diapers, after all. And don't forget, they do have some resale value.

I know what you mean! I bought a dozen prefolds to help tide me over until I accumulated a full 2-day stash of pockets. I'm surprised to find myself reaching for the prefolds more often! They're not nearly the PITA that I had first thought they'd be, haha.

This is good to hear. At first I was all about pocket diapers b/c that's what my sisters used... but then I was given a bunch of prefolds and wasn't sure if I really wanted them (but they were free, and I'm not about to turn down free).
So it's great to hear they're easy to use and not too difficult!
