We have a 3 year old daughter whose clothes are not the right season for our girl twin. I thought it would be cute to get some matching/coordinating clothes for the babies, but haven't been able to find anything other than one set of things from Janie and Jack. Any ideas where to shop?
Re: Where do you buy your coordinating B/G clothing?
Affordable matching / coordinating clothes?? eh, not so much.
The only place I have found 1-2 coordinating outfits at a decent price is at Carters Outlet locally. Have not tried Carters online as I prefer to see the outfits in person.
Otherwise, what I've seen on the internet is super outrageous pricing.
I love Gymboree and Janine & Jack, but its out of my price range at the regular and even 50% prices... and by the time the clothes are on super duper clearance, there is nothing left in the sizes I need in outfits that coordinate. It doesn't help that there is a huge size difference between the two (daughter wears 9mo-12mo and son wears 18 mo).
I've looked at Babies R Us at Koala Kids and they are expensive too.. but they do seem to have 1-2 coordinating sets each line.
In layette sizes, Children's Place usually has some coordinates. Gymboree also has family lines out now that match/coordinate. Very occasionally I'll find something at Old Navy. Marshalls and TJ Maxx usually have Polo rompers and dresses in the same colors for decent prices. That's about it for mall stores, though.
Like OU said, Kelly's Kids has lots of coordinates, but they are pricey. Also, Bestdressedchild.com has a whole section on boy/girl matches and coordinates. They have lots of stuff but they're overpriced as compared to local boutiques. I've gotten a lot of stuff from Orient Expressed. It's not cheap but the quality is top notch and, if you're into reselling your clothes, they do well on the resale market.
The way I've usually coordinated is by having both wear a Carter's fleece jacket set, both wear an appliqu?d t-shirt and jeans, a dress and a polo shirt in the same color, etc. So I can find things like that anywhere. My favorite splurge places are Boden and Hanna Andersson, but mostly we have a lot of Carter's, Old Navy, and Target stuff.
LOVE Kelly's Kids! I have all girls, but if I had a boy, I would totally buy all the coordinating sets! I'll have to stick with Gymboree and Janie and Jack. I love to coordinate DD1's outfits with the matching outfits of the twins.
