Birthday Party Favor

Hi Ladies - I am planning my daugther's 2nd birthday party.  We are planning to bring all the kids to a "Paint Your Own Pottery" center and then to a restaurant for Pizza and Cupcakes.  I have children ranging in age from 1 - 13 and about 28 kids in total.  I am trying to find a small favor to give each child.  They will be getting their pottery piece to keep once I get them back from being finished by the center, but I also want them to have a favor that day.  Any thoughts?!!?  TIA

Re: Birthday Party Favor

  • 1st off, are you really sure you want little at a paint your own pottery place?  Sorry but my DD was invited to a party at one of those places last year, she was just shy of 5 and the kids were all 4 or 5 and it was a nightmare.  The people that worked at the place were very nervous about the kids breaking stuff and it took the kids a very short time to paint their item and then they had all this extra time to waste.  Just an FYI  - I love these places but I think for a party, this is a way better idea for kids that are 7 or so or older.

Anyway, to answer your question - the item that the child is painting is plenty for a favor.  I know they won't get to take it home that day but who cares - do not waste your money on junky stuff that will end up in the trash.  I am assuming you will serve cake or cupcakes or something during the party - I would call that a day but if you really feel the need to do something - maybe get some small paintbrushed and paint or chalk or something that goes with the paint your pottery theme.  For my DD's 4th birthday party next weekend, we are giving slinkies.

  • I agree that this sounds like a nightmare, but if you are willing do deal with it more power to you.  This also sounds like a really long party for such a young group.

DS just made his class their bag.  We got lunch bags and did glitter glue, stickers and glued confetti on.  We are putting a package of stickers in and a rice krispy treat in there. It was not fancy, but DS and I had a great time making them.   I am sick of getting dollar store junk and candy from other parties.  For his friends party we did stickers, tattoos and a super ball.

  • For a 2 year olds birthday party you're going to paint pottery?

I don't think you need a party favor since the party favor is the pottery but if you really want to do one, then what about a coloring pad and paints to go along with th theme.
