Clothes brands for tall, skinny LOs

DS is getting too tall for his 6-9 month clothes, but his 9-12s and 12-18s are so baggy that his pants are always falling down.

Anyone know which brands tend to run slimmer or longer in baby sizes? I need to pick up some new spring clothes for him soon.

Jumping Beans from kohls are my fave! But sometimes I still have to roll the waist over to keep them up!

*Sigh*  I have no good recs for you but the same problem.  C wears 18-24 or 2T shirts but 9M pants....  I'll be watching this post for good ideas though.

Old Navy is pretty narrow. I remember my oldest DD was still wearing 12mth shorts at 2.5yrs old because once they lose the diaper, they are even tinier around the butt/waist!

Thanks for the suggestions, ladies! Glad to hear I'm not the only one finding it hard to find clothes that fit.

Random question, but do you find that sometimes the 12 mo shirt fits or is snug around the belly but the pants are ready to fall off?  Or do I have a weirdo?

And we do Target, Old Navy, Carters, or Fred Meyer brand.  I tend to go with the elastic waist pants over things like jeans for this very reason.

I just got A a pair of jeans for this summer that are 18-24 months because he is so tall.  But they have the adjustable waist.  I got them at Old Navy.

H&M! Their pants tend to run long in the leg for size.

I cheat- I got mitten clips from Walmart and use them as a 'belt' for him (I use them to cinch together the back of his pants a bit).  I also got a few pair of overalls.  They give you the length without having to worry about the waist!

DS is tall (off the charts), but he has a buddha belly.  I've noticed that jogging sets (like Nike and Adidas) tend to have long pants...too long for DS, even.  I'm waiting for him to grow into them.  He's in 18 month clothes now, but can still fit into 12 month pants.

I would agree that Old Navy pretty much fits the bill. Their stuff runs small overall, but I do feel like the length is not that short, so on balance they are for skinnier LOs. DS fits the 12-18 perfectly now, and he is quite thin in the limbs. Though he has a giant gut. 

The good news is that if you are moving into spring clothes, you can just buy them in the smaller sizes, because you're dealing with short sleeves and shirts.

i have a tall and skinny as well. her limbs are so darn gangley. i like old navy but i still feel like their jeans aren't long enough. i suggest looking at 77 kids, that's american eagle's kids line. i got a pair of jeans there that are amazing. they have an adjustable elastic waist so you can pull an elastic inside the pants as tight as you need and then hook it on a button on each side. hard to describe but trust me, it's genious. they also fit narrowly in the leg so you don't get that baggy look. baby jeans there cost $20, which is a lot more than i usually spend on one baby item, but i think it's worth it. they also have good sale stuff most of the time.
