Hello everyone! I hope everyone is having a happy Wednesday.
I had a question about something I'm going through right now...Yesterday morning, I woke up with a scratchy throat that didn't really go away or get worse throughout the entirety of the day. It wasn't sore, just scratchy and uncomfortable. And today, I woke up and it was more sore than scratchy, but it really just feels raw (not strep-like, if you know the difference). I have literally no other symptoms unless they are being covered up by typical PG symptoms (like fatigue) -- No fever, no coughing (except to relieve my scratchy throat), no runny nose or congestion, no aches and pains, no nothing! Likewise, I don't really have a problem with seasonal allergies, food allergies, or anything that would just suddenly bring this on that I know of...
I'm going to take the rest of the day off and rest at home and go to a doctor tomorrow if it gets worse or persists, but is this something that anyone has had experience with before or something I should be genuinely concerned about? My husband mentioned that it might be related to acid reflux or something of the like, but again, I've never had problems with this before. I did feel some post-nasal drip going on a couple nights ago, but I've never heard of that causing a sore throat for the entire day...So any ideas?
Also, any pregnancy-safe remedies for a sore throat? I think I'm going to try some lemon honey tea later today when I get home.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Something to be concerned about?
drinking plenty of warm liquids helps. I like a lemon tea made with a little honey when my throat hurts. its also good if you end up with post nasal drip issues to clear out any throat mucus.
my ob said liquid echinacia (sp?) was ok to use during pregnancy to help fight of the crud. you can add it to juice, tea etc.

I've had a few colds this pregnancy, and it sounds like how they've all started. None of mine were infection (sinus, ear) related so I didn't need antibiotics and while it took forever to get over it eventually it happened. If it's an infection you'll want to get it checked out, pain in your ears or sinus area. But otherwise it is totally fine and doesn't affect the baby.
When it got horrible I took Tylenol PM and Halls cough drops so I could sleep, but that was it.
Oh and what the PPs said warm liquids, and a salt water gargle.
