2nd Trimester

how do i know if i feel my uterus?

Ok, I realize this may be a basic question, but I can't figure it out.  I was talking with someone earlier and told them that I am 16 weeks with twins and have not grown at all.  They asked me if I could feel my uterus when I was laying down.

I have also read other people talk about the position of where their uterus is now.  How do you know?  I push on my stomach, but I have no idea if what I am feeling is my uterus or not.

  • You should be able to feel your fundus a couple of inches below your belly button.  It feels like the edge of a water balloon.

  • I am on a same boat, I would like to know where I can feel my uterus, too! Hopefully you get this answered so then I can know, too. :)
  • 2 babies and I can NEVER tell.

I did not show AT ALL until 22 and 24 weeks with each.

  • I feel my stomach every night when laying down, and still have no freaking clue how to feel it.  Yet the doctor barely touches it and knows right away. I don't get it either.

  • I couldn't tell until around 18 weeks...
  • I can never tell either. My doctor the other day mentioned that I have a very muscular stomach and that the muscles make it difficult to distinguish the uterus. I don't know how true that is, but it made me feel better.
