did anyone use acupuncture for induction?

Any experiences to share?  I've had acupuncture before so I'm not nervous about the needles or how it goes.  I'm curious as to the results.

Re: did anyone use acupuncture for induction?

  • I just had my second treatment today.  I'm not in labor yet, but I'm having somewhat regular, albeit weak, contractions.  There's a weird energy you can feel coursing through your body, if you've had acupuncture before then you probably know what that feels like.  I might not be in labor yet, but I know it's doing something and I feel like I might not be ten days late this time around like I was with my two others.

  • Sweet! I'm really excited after googling some info about it. I've been having tons of ctx the past several days. They just dont stick around through position changes.  My dr, who I just saw today, didn't think I would make it to my appt next Monday. So I'm reallllllly hoping this can just push me over the edge.  I've dried damn near every other natural method.

  • Yup! My friend did in Nov and went into labour that night... So I tried it myself and went into labour 31hrs later.

Medical studies I've read are a bit mixed, but since (unlike drug trials) its efficacy depends on the skill of the practitioner,  I tend to think there is a significant correlation between acupuncture induction and start of labour.
