Ever have follicles not respond to trigger? (Help!)

And should I be freaking out?

At yesterday's ultrasound, they were unable to find the left ovary, so I have no idea what happened to the two follicles over there, but in the right, it was really weird...

Originally, when I was told to trigger, I had two 23s and a smaller 14-15 on the right and two 12-14s on the left.  At my one-week-post IUI u/s yesterday, only one of the big follies from the right o'ed.  There is still a 29 in there and the 14 is now an 18.  WTF?  And for all we know, the two littles from the left could still be in there.

Either way, at least two of my follicles completely missed IUI.  Maybe this is psychotic of me, but I am thinking DH and I should TI all week.  Is that insane?  I am just so afraid to let this last chance go when we had so many follicles.

I have officially lost my mind at this point, so please, any advice or insight is absolutely appreciated...

Re: Ever have follicles not respond to trigger? (Help!)

  • Yes, I have had my follicles not respond to the HCG trigger but this was through IVF not IUI. We didn't know it until we went into retrieval and the eggs stuck to the follicles indicating the HCG trigger failed and the eggs did not go through the mitosis process which is important. What did your dr say? I was so paranoid from there on out that I did a double trigger.

Wishing you the best and try not to worry. Hopefully you got one little one that triggered and that is all you need. Plus just because they couldn't find your left ovary doesn't mean you something isn't going on.

I have learned it doesn't pay to worry. Just trust and relax and things will work out and what ever you do...stay the heck off Dr. Google..........
