Pregnant after a Loss

Scared and need advice

I had my Hcg levels checked for the first time and they came back at 40.  I am 4w 4d along.  What were your levels around 4 weeks?  I'm really scared that I am going to m/c again, my levels seem so low.  Help!

  • It's so easy to be nervous when you're PGAL. Beta levels vary greatly. It's really the doubling that matters. So when they take your 2nd betas, you just want them to double. Good luck and fingers crossed!

  • That's a fine number! The number itself doesn't matter anyway; the doubling time matters. Are you going back in 2 days for another draw?
It was a rough road, but Arlo Daniel was born April 1, 2013—and our second rainbow is due October 12, 2014.
  • My next betas will be drawn on Thursday.  BTW, it is great to see you panacea05 on this board, we were on the m/c board together.  I am soooo happy for you.  Big hugs.

  • HCG numbers are not a good indicator about whether or not the pregnancy is viable! What is most important is if your numbers double by the next time you have your HCG levels drawn!

  • I don't remember my numbers specifically but like others said, all that matters is that the number double.  You may also be surprised to learn you're not as far along as you think you are so that could explain a smaller number.  Of course the only way to find that out is an early ultra-sound which (as you know) will help determine dating.

Good luck and I hope your numbers double :o

  • As the other ladies have said, the most important thing is that your levels double.  I would go in for another blood draw and check your progesterone too.  Pgal is so hard!  **Hugs**
