Boogie Wipes

Does anyone use them?  It was suggested to me that they were beyond awesome, so I bought them.  P has super sensitive skin, so I bought the plain ones.  They worked like a dream!  However, just a little while after that, P's entire face (anywhere I used the wipe) turned red!  Poor kid was miserable.

Does anyone else with sensitive skin have the same issues?  Do you guys use them & free yourselves from boogies care-free?  Big Smile

Poor P! We loooove Boogie Wipes. I have the huge tub of them and it's lasted us several months. Her face has never gotten red and she seems to have mildly sensitive skin.

  • We only use boogie wipes when S has a runny nose and we love them! I usually get the grape ones and have never noticed any reaction to them at all.

  • I thank you for hooking me up with a package, they are awsome! Poor Pen and her skin

  • I had one pack I got at my shower, I think. I still have 1 or 2 left. I used them occasionally, but just thought they were "eh".

  • I bought them when DS had a cold and a nasty case of the boogs and thought they were great.  Much better than wetting a tissue.  We didn't have any skin problems though.

  • Hmm...check out the ingredients. I know there is some food stuff in them. maybe she just has an allergy to them!

  • We've never tried them, but I keep thinking about picking up a pack. Sorry your LO had a reaction to them.

  • Poor P!  We've been using them whenever DS gets sick.  I love them.  I mean, the kid hates when we come at his nose with anything, but they work like a charm.  DS has eczema and I was worried about them irritating his skin, so I bought the plain ones.  When I ran out, the store only had the grape ones and DS has been fine with them.

  • Okay, for all those Boogie Wipes users, forgive a mommy who is out in the dark.  How are these different than a diaper wipe or regular wet wipe?
  • Boogiei Wipes use a saline based solution (forgive me I never read any of the ingredients in the package.)  We use them frequently because DD has a constant runny nose.

Your problem sounds like DH as a kid.  DH was allergic to all wipes and they turned his skin bright red for a few hours.  He has mostly grown out of it, but he still can not use the lemon scented moist toilettes they give you at restaurants.

  • Yeah, DH & I both have super sensitive skin so it's not a huge surprise.  We didn't start nightly baths until maybe 8+ months because of her skin, and we still don't wash every night, just a splish-splash.

I did like the way they removed boogies a little easier than the wipes, but maybe that's the saline?  I'm thinking that maybe I will just try a cloth with plain saline for my snot-nosed kid.  Anyone try that?

  • I know daycare likes Boogie Wipes but I haven't used them at home.

We do keep a few burp clothes in strategic stashes around the house and grab them to help with nose wiping and nose crusties when B has a cold.

  • I love Boogie Wipes and actually use them after every meal to wipe K's face since he hates it when I use anything else.  Works like a charm.
