Candy-making question (party favors)

I am making marshmallow pops for DD's party (mostly family).  It's just marshmallows dipped in chocolate (then decorated w/sprinkles).

How far in advance do you think I can make them?  It doesn't need to be really far ahead of time.. I just don't want to be making them the night before when I have a million other things to do.  I could store them in a freezer or somewhere cool/cold like the basement or garage (we don't keep our cars in the garage).

Re: Candy-making question (party favors)

  • with chocolate you don't want it to get cold... because then when it comes back to room temp it will get condensation and it will cause the chocolate to get wet and gives it a weird consistancy... which would be even worse for the marshmallows.

I would probably make them 2-3 days before and keep them covered in a cooler spot in your house (not cold, but not near the oven or a heat vent or anything)
