I had my GD test today and failed with a 170. How common is it to fail the 1 hr and be just fine for the 3 hr? With DS, I failed to 1 hr and passed the 3 hr but this time around I have been having high blood pressure. Does high blood pressure put you at greater risk of getting GD?

As the others said, a high number go on to pass. I failed the 1 hour, and passed the 3 hour no problem.
As for HBP and GD - it's the other way round, from what I understand. Having GD puts you at greater risk for b/p issues. Given that GD is pretty much about how well your pancreas produces insulin with hormonal interference, I don't think b/p would matter. Mine has been elevated for awhile and as I said - no GD.

Lots of people fail the 1 hour and pass the 3 hour...
It could have been something as small as what you ate the night before or if you had something to eat before your test.
Don't worry till you have the 3 hour test. GOOD LUCK!
