Thanks so much for checking on G. He was cranky throughout the remainder of yesterday (just a bit more than his typical level) and slow to smile, did not really nap well (not entirely atypical) but went down to sleep without losing his sh!t again. He got up twice in the night as had been his pattern before the badness on Friday. His demeanor during the night and this morning was much more his normal self - giving some smiles along with the squawking.
So all in all I have no idea what happened. Whatever it was, I hope it stays away until we can tie it to something lest I lose my tenuous grasp on sanity. We effectively ruled out fever, teeth, GI issues (of which he usually has plenty) and visible injury. Left on the table are ear infection and sensitivity/allergy. I am already on a dairy and soy free diet, and have not eaten anything new, but my supply is tanking and he got one (1) ounce of Alimentum for the first time on Thursday to compelte a feeding, so we are leaving this one in the running although it is hopefully unlikely to have such a severe sh!tstorm reaction from one ounce more than 24 hours prior.
I have a call in to the pedi to talk through what happened and see if she has any ideas and can fit him in for an ear check late today. The Nanny is also on the lookout, and if he has another scary episode she will call me and I will go home to get him in to the Dr even sooner. Never a dull moment with this kid. I am exhausted and the work week has just begun!
