f/u to sippy cups

I posted last week about needing to cut out DD1's sippy cup. She basically uses it as a paci at night (this started when DD2 was born and I let it go because she was such a horrible sleeper, and I was so tired w/ that and a NB!).

Anyway, DD does great with a regular cup during the day, but wouldn't fall asleep w/out her "baby cup". She even sometimes wakes up in the middle of the night crying because she can't find it. We've been telling her for some time now that once she turns 4, that's it. No more baby cups.

Last night was the first night. About 20 mins after I put her to bed, I heard her crying this really sad, scared cry. It scared me a little because I've never heard her cry like that! I went in there and she was almost hyperventilating, really crying. I asked her what was wrong and she wouldn't tell me. I asked her if it was because of her baby cups, and she said no.

BTW, her "baby cup" was right next to her bed just in case. Not good for me, but DD2 is super sick and I just didn't want to deal w/ DD1 not sleeping since I've been up all night w/ DD2 ;)

Anyway, DD slept ALL night! After that cry episode, that was it. She never told me that was the problem, she never got her cup (talk about some great self control). I swear that was the reason she cried. Like she was mourning the loss of her cup. ;) But I am so so so darn proud of her!!! Hopefully tonight will go just as well :)
