D.C. Area Babies

**useonfire**

I was just catching up on your post below re VBAC. I wanted to let you know that DD2 ended up being 9lbs 6oz and her delivery was easy. I'm only 5'1" so she was a big baby for my body. DD1 was only 7lb 14oz and she could not get her head past my pelvic bones, thus the section. My OB diagnosed that L&D as CPD (L&D nurse confirmed it was truly CPD and not just an excuse to do a section). I was really nervous my body wouldn't know what to do thr second time around, but it totally did - and I delivered a baby 1.5 lbs bigger. Hang in there, your body KNOWS how to do this.

  • Wow, that is really encouraging :)  I've been doing literally everything I can to encourage this baby to come out on her own, get into a great position and widen my pelvis (I've done 2 chiropractic treatments, I have acupuncture scheduled for this week, and I've had my Doula, who is DH's cousin, come over to help me with exercises).  Even though my c/s was not the end of the world, I'd give anything not to have another major surgery.  I highly doubt my DD will be over 9lbs (though my DS probably would have been at 40 weeks - he was born just after 39) but it's so encouraging to hear that someone else with a slight build can get such a large baby out!
