POLL- IVF & Age re: eggs retrieved

Now that I'm 35 and going through IVF again, I'm feeling depressed that they haven't been measuring as many follies on the ultrasound at my checkups.  I am curious how old you were for IVF and how many eggs you got.

And yes, I know quality over quantity and it only takes one, but it's tough when I'm used to seeing more.

IVF #1- age 33, 11 retrieved, 9 mature & ICSI'd, 8 fert.

IVF #2- age 33, 14 retrieved, 11 mature & ICSI'd, 6 fert.

IVF #3- age 34, 16 retrieved, 14 mature & ICSI'd, 11 fert

IVF #4- age 35, I'll let you know in a few days, but only measured 8 at my last u/s.

IVF 1: Age 30: 11 retrieved, 9 fertilized, 5 transferred+1 didn't survive defrost

IVF 2: Age 31: 12 retrieved, 8 fertilized, 2 transferred+3 on ice.

Doc thinks the quality of my two best improved, but that's not going to be much of a consolation if that bfn I got on Thursday was accurate.

IVF 3- 38 7 retrieved, 6 fert

I was 26 for my ER in 2008, and we got 28 and 19 of them fertilized. So we transferred 2 and froze 17. Of those 17, 15 of them are still good based on the fert report.

#5 : 42 :  antagonist max stims + EPP : 6?9 AFC :  1 follie : converted to IUI

#6 : 42 :  antagonist max stims + EPP :  10 AFC : cancelled

Numbers weren't my issue until I hit a wall. EQ was always the problem. No ICSI until our DE cycle.

My stats are in my siggy - but I was 31 for the first two.  And I'm 32 now and just did my third cycle.   I think my increase in eggs has more to do with the protocol and dose of meds than anything else.

Eggs:  34R, 27M, 24F.  (And all were crap, so I'm a perfect lesson in the "quality over quantity".)

I am 42.this is the first time we made it to ER which was yesterday. In th e past I either ovulated on our own or did not respond. I don't have a Report yet but they got 11 eggs. Crossing fingers for all the luck that I get a good report. Maybe your body is not responding this cycle. I had that happen. We even cut the med dose drastically this time. Something worked in that area.  Best of luck!!!!

My stats are in my sig but it's pretty straightforward...

age 39:  3 retrieved, 2 mature and fertilized

still 39, 3 mos or so later:  3 retrieved, 2 mature and fertilized

The 2nd IVF embies were of lesser quality than the first ones. 

Since I am going to win the lottery, there might be an IVF3 at 40.  I'll let ya know how that goes. ;-)

We think that I am either DOR or just have poor egg quality b/c my numbers are not good for my age

31- 6ER, 5 fertilized, 2 made it to blayst for 5 day transfer , RE said there was a medical mistake so that one didn't count  

31- 4ER, 3 fertilized , 2 made it to 8 cell for 3DT

If we did IVF again I would want them to be WAY more aggressive on my meds, I am obviously not going to overstimulate. But do far for my age my RE's think my amount of eggs retrieved is NOT GOOD

IVF #1: Age 31.5 when I did Antagonist w/bcp, 47 AFC, 30 retrieved, 17 fertilized normally - all were ICSI'd (we are severe MFI), Of the 17, 9 made it to freeze by Days 5 & 6. (I should add, on ER day I had a lot of immature & intermediate eggs so it took 1 full day in the lab for most of them to catch up & be mature. Then by day 5, 5 of the 9 blastocysts were still not ready & needed an extra day to develop. For some reason, mine were slow growers.)

My doctor said the normal average was between 6-10. I was within that range.

IVF/ICSI#1: Age 41: AFC 6; 4 follies, 3 retrieved, 1 fertilized, 1 transferred.  The embryologist and RE seemed impressed with the one though (trying to be positive)!  Even though it was grade 2, I was told it was as close to grade 1 as it could be!

IVF #2 - 37: 4 retrieved, 1 fertilized (again, don't recall # mature)

IVF #3 - 37: 5 retrieved, 1 fertilized

IVF #4 - 37: 9 retrieved, 8 mature, 8 fertilized - best cycle ever and still a BFN!

I have my WTF on Monday, so I need to ask about egg quality.  My quantity has never been very high.  I am in low normal range for AMH, so who the heck knows why I keep getting BFNs.

IVF #1, age 35 (almost 36)--14 retrieved, 11 mature, and we ended up with 6 day 5 blasts (one transferred, 5 frozen). Fresh cycle (1 transferred) and FET (2 transferred) both ended in c/p.

This is with an AMH of 3.0, FSH 11, AFC around 20. We have unexplained IF. If this FET doesn't work, we are going to do another fresh cycle, even though we will still have one more frozen embryo. I want to try another fresh cycle before I get too much older.

I thought this was worth answering since I was an outlier. 

IVF/ICSI: age 27: 5 retrieved, 5 fertilized, 2 transferred at day 3, 2 frozen at day 5. My DD is a result of that cycle (m/c her twin).

Success mentioned -- stats in sig.  Important to note: I had zero frosties in either cycle.   I was 30 during IVF #1 and 31 during IVF #2.  I'm thinking about going in a couple of months for IVF #3 and freezing anything decent for use in the future.

Age 36. 27R, 23 mature, 17 blasts, 11 normal by pgd. Chose to transfer one and freeze 7 of the remaining 10 normal blasts.

Seriously!! I cannot make eggs.. But am 38. Ivf1: 3R; only 2 mature. 2F but terrible EQ.
IVF2: 2R:2F but terrible EQ
IVF3:2R: 1 egg dead and The other stopped growing at 1 cell. I was 37 for #1 and 38 for the rest.
