What testing?

We're new(ish) to food allergies.  My 16 month old was diagnosed with dairy, egg, beef and peanut in December.  So far, allergist only did a skin test.  (I'm sure she's dairy and egg--she threw up yogurt twice and then wouldn't touch any dairy or egg), peanut and beef were surprises.

Anyway, I keep reading about numbers and blood tests.  Our second appointment with the allergist is in April and I want to be prepared to ask for what we need!

We started with the skin test too, and didn't do a blood test until her 1 year follow up. I think the reason was that she was less than a year old initially. From now on, we will do repeat blood work every year to see where her numbers go, and if her numbers happen to drop low enough, they will repeat the skin test and potentially do a food challenge before saying she's outgrown it.

It can't hurt to ask your allergist's opinion on getting the blood scores at this point.
