I'm actually kind of curious about this... I had a IVF twin pregnancy - 1 twin passed at 9w5d - I had two 'bouts' of hemmorhaging - then two 'bouts' of light bleeds. The last three weeks of my pregnancy were uneventful - and he was looking great.. measuring a week ahead.. I also had cramps my entire pregnancy... at 18 weeks exactly.. I got up from bed to use the bathroom - and BAM - my water broke. I delivered my handsome boy.. and am still waiting for results from the placenta. My baby boy had died a mere two hours after my water breaking... Please tell me your pPROM story.. and if they found the answers as to why it occurred...

Re: How many losses from pPROM?
((HUGS)) lrachelle80 also lost her sweet Caleb from pPROM. She is on the FB group too.
I lost my twins to incompetent cervix technically because my water didn't break but I was 2cm dilated without knowing it. There is a school of thought out there that makes sense, that if you experienced pPROM you have cervical issues. Both lrachelle and myself received the transabdominal cerclage to ensure the cervix doesn't open again.
If you click on my badge "I have a bionic cervix" it goes to my blog, hers is listed there too.

I have had 2 losses due to pPROM. My first was in July 2011. We thought the baby had issues and were told we would never make it to term. A day after my anatomy scan, my water broke. All that morning I have some BH contractions, but chalked it up to the stress. A few hours later it broke. The doctor had no intention to save the pregnancy. We were admitted and induced right away. We recently found out that I have an infection and the baby was perfect.... Knowing this prior could have saved my 2nd.
On to the next pPROM. I had a big bleed around 14.5 weeks and was told I had placenta previa. Was put on pelvic rest and limited duty. Over the next 2 weeks I had 3 more bleeds and was on best rest for 2 weeks until it stopped. They found that I had a SCH during this time. I started the 17P injections at 16 weeks and things were getting better. I had a lot of cramping during my18-19 week (which was chLked up to growing pains) and the night before my water brOke, I woke up in severe pain for about 30 minutes. I thought it was gas pain frOm what I ate that day. The next night I thought I was spotting brown, but then realized it was watery. Went to the ER and was placed on hospital bed rest until delivery. We had hoped it would reseal and I was given antibiotics. Baby boy was kicking away and doing wonderful until about 5 days later when he kicked something loose and I started bleeding. After 3 days of this and progressively the movement was slowing we found that the placenta was starting to detach. It was after this that we decided to induce.
I am still waiting to hear my results from this pregnancy. They suspect it is another infection and possibly a clotting disorder. They have recommended a cerclage for next pregnancy even though they don't think I have an IC. I will also be getting weekly checks and will probably end up on bed rest after the first trimester. I will find out my official plan in another month when I meet the new MFM.
