I found another smoldering outlet today. Behind our loveseat. There was a smoke trail up the wall and when I removed the outlet cover I could SEE the electricity arching. I called FIL since it's after hours so he can come cap it off and check the other outlets on the circut. I'll call back the electric people who checked out the last one tomorrow (home warrenty thing). I wonder if it's their insurance that covers everything if our house burns to the ground

Although I am deeply disturbed by the danger to my children and myself, I'm also quite annoyed the breaker I had to flip also powers our satellite. And that means no Grey's Anatomy or Private Practice until it's on HuluPlus. Tough life...I know... work with me here.

This. Why didn't the electrical people who already came out check it? I think I would ask that they check all the outlets now. And maybe talk to the builder if you bought it new. Have any of your neighbors had this?
