A baby girl!!!

I really didn't think my dh could make girls but he did & I'm so thrilled. Ok on another note I noticed the cord wrapped around her neck I asked the lady about it & she said its just drapped around her neck & its quite common about 25% of babies are born with it & not to worry. I can't help but too worry especially after losing caiden Yes I lost him when he was 3 months old but still I have talked too & seen other mothers stories on here about cord accidents so I sit her patiently waiting to feel her kick. I'm scared!! DID any of you ladies notice the cord wrapped around your childs neck during an ultrasound?? Please share

Re: & ITS.........
We lost Felix to a cord accident.... After he was born the doctor found "severe signs of constriction." This was never seen on any ultrasounds.
Hopefully to make you feel better, my husband was born with his cord around his neck (obviously he's fine) and my moms cousin just had a baby girl in January with her cord around her neck. She's fine too.
Congratulations on your baby girl. Best wishes to you and your family!

I was terrified of a cord accident and I lost Kam at 19 months..
My OB said that 80% of babies at some point or another end up with the cord wrapped around them in some way shape or form. Kam's was wrapped twice around her neck and under her arm and it caused no issues, she was a c section though. I know several PAL women whose now very healthy LO's had cords wrapped around them too.
I know it is scary just keep your head up and if you want extra scans to monitor it then demand them.
I lost my daughter to a cord accident! If it were me I would demand extra monitoring and several NST towards the end
I'm not trying to scare you. Like others have said there are lots of healthy babies born wrapped up in their cord.
However, I would feel horribly if something happened and all I said to you was " try not to stress". Keep up with your kick counts and demand more from your dr. You have to be an advocate for your baby. Don't be ok with the standard when you know there is potential for something to go wrong. Also ask for a blood flow test, that can help to determine the severity of it.
Again, I'm not trying to scare you, and I'm extremely sorry if I have. Being PGAL is hard enough with out my babble, but PLEASE talk to your dr about steps and procautions that can be taken.
And congrats on your sweet baby girl!
