Storing BMilk from different days

I have about 2 oz of BM in the fridge that I pumped earlier this week.  My LC told me to stop pumping for the time being so that LO was exclusively breastfed to help him improve his latch.

Anyway, after my appointment tomorrow, I'm pretty sure she'll give me the go ahead to start pumping again.  Can I add newly pumped milk to "older" milk or must you only store same day milk in the same container??  I hope my question makes sense.

Re: Storing BMilk from different days

  • I do...as long as it hasn't previously been frozen. I hope I am doing the right thing! Interested to hear what the others say...

  • I don't pump often, so when I do I need to add it to previously pumped milk to fill a bag. I usually try to keep it within a few days of each other.

I do. As long as they are the same temp. So if I have fresh pumped, I wait till it's cooled in the fridge to add it to the other stuff. And if I decide I need to freeze the mixed milk, I write the oldest date on the bag.

    This.

This.  But if its more than a day or 2 apart I give them separate bags.
