Politics clicky poll to shake things up!

Re: Politics clicky poll to shake things up!

  • Great googly-moogly, if Santorum wins, I'm out.  That man is ridiculous.

    Aaaaaand go.

  • I'll pick the candidate with the most secular agenda.

ETA: THat will decidedly not be Santorum.

  • I'm a Democrat, but I feel for my conservative pals. What a train wreck. If Romney became president and did a bait and switch, reverting to his former moderate self, I wouldn't fell the need to build an underground shelter with provisions for four years like I do with Santorum.

My sister is a super conservative "anyone but Obama" person. I told her that stance would backfire. But I think she would be ok with Santorum. She like the church to tell her what to do in every life situation.

    Yikes!

  • I wouldn't waste my gas driving to the polls.

I think if you wanted to shake things up, you have to make it non-clicky.  Wink

    No chit, yo.

How can a poll bring out the crazies if it's clicky??  (shakes head)

Yeah, your sister would be the ideal Santorum supporter.  I really wonder if a lot of people are just catching the Santorum train now and not paying attention to all the crazy from all of the statements he's made and flat out weird sh!t he's done.

It would be interesting to see if Mittens does go back to his more moderate self. Its a really tough call, because as we've seen with this presidency - the politics game (and other unforeseen variables) really make it hard to put forth one's individual political agenda that isn't tainted by either party's influence.

Really?  What about all of the racist stuff?  And the sexist stuff?  She wouldn't care about that?  I mean, he's crazy.  Fo' sheezy.

Mittens will most definitely move to the center, but probably won't return all the way to his old moderate self.  The election is won by the swing voter and he can't afford to be too far to the right, because the far right isn't going to be excited enough about him to come out strong to the polls and make up for what he loses in the center.  Unless he makes Marco Rubio his VP, then they (the right/tea partiers) might be a little more enthusiastic about the ticket.  Mittens will be able to move to the center because he'll have a conservative darling on the ticket.  Oh the irony, he picks a conservative VP so he can be more moderate.

  • LLCG- But isn't that a question that could be posed to all the conservatives who vote Republican based on their fiscal conservativism, even though they might not give a crap about teaching Creationism in school?

At least the Brits keep fiscal and social conservativism sorta separate, party-wise.

THe racist stuff she's not ok with, but she only cares whether a candidate is pro-life or not. Seriously, that's her only criteria. And she would never vote for Ron Paul because even though he is pro-life, he doesn't care to legislate his religious beliefs over the rest of us.

And there are a lot of things I think are sexist that she doesn't. She's a strange duck.

She is also ultra-Catholic, and her best friend is too, but he's gay. She says she'd love to be a hippie, but she's not all about free love. She is graduating with a degree in International Studies with a concentration in Economics and Development and doesn't know jack squat about the economy. She wants to boycott every company for one reason or another. I think she's confused.

  • Special snowflake, FTW!

I am a politically moderate conservative.  I will write in a candidate.  I would never choose to just not vote.

The thing is, I honestly don't think Mitt is a moderate.  I think he acted moderate when he was Gov of Mass, but I  think this conservative schtick he's got going is the real Mitt. One example  of why--I  heard a story (time? NYT? something) where years and years ago he tried to convince a pregnant mother of four to carry her baby to term, but whose doctor said she had to terminate t he pregnancy or likely die.

On to the original question--Santorum is nucking futs. For realz. Plus, all those "pro-life" creds he has? Santorum in '95: I was basically pro choice until I ran for Congress. That's some irony.

Word.  But, I guess the point there is that they don't care either way about Creationism, so the fiscal stuff trumps it all.

Dems lump their fiscal and social agendas together, too, though.  I've always found that odd about both parties.

That's one thing I've always admired Libertarians for.  Love 'em or hate 'em, at least they are consistent.  No government across the board. Done and Done.

    Yep.

  • Most Ron Paul voters are this way. They vote Ron Paul or not at all too.
