This is no offensive to anyone who has these, but I hate those stupid stick figure stickers that you put on your car windows to represent your family. I'm not a car sticker person anyways but these in particular really bother me.
I feel the same way about those stupid stick figure stickers...to me it's like asking all predators and child molesters to follow you."Since my stickers show I have four kids I should be an easy target." I also dislike them cause they're dumb...
I do have a baby on board suction cup thingy but only because I want people to drive around me like they have some sort of sense. It probably makes no difference, but when I cuss them for driving like an idiot...I warned them there was a baby on board so be prepared for my wrath.

Yes - my son is named Dayne - there is a 'y' in there. It's the spelling we liked, we weren't trying to be trendy or unique. And I can promise you we're not white trash. So thanks for your opinion.
You do realize that he's only one W away from the very non-white trashy name of Dwayne, like this guy:
I keed, I keed (smiley face!!!)
I actually don't care what people name their child. I just don't want to be looked at like I'm dumb because I misspelled K'ssondra's or Keighlee's name.
I think TV in moderation makes my kids smarter. They watch Super Why and have been learning letters faster than I could ever teach them. Let's face it, some dude in a cape is a whole lot cooler to learn from than your mom.

Related to this.. I think the pregnant mom and 'families with small children' parking spots are stupid. I mean, I think BRU can 'get away with it', but I still think it's kind of lame. I've been seeing them at the grocery store and malls and everywhere. It's weird.
Oh, honey. LOL. Talk to me when you're hauling a 3 year old and a 2 year old into the store in the middle of winter when you've got m/s so bad you can hardly stand up. Methinks you'd have a different opinion on the family parking spots.
Bahahahah - this! Try getting two 20 month olds out of the car safely and into some of these stores that don't put their double carts right outside. Thank GOD they have those spots.
I actually don't care what people name their child. I just don't want to be looked at like I'm dumb because I misspelled K'ssondra's or Keighlee's name.
haha. My name is Tarah - with an 'h' - I'm so use to seeing it spelled five million ways. I also don't take it personally if someone not close to my son spells his name the more common way. We chose to spell it differently therefore it would be rude to judge someone for not reading our minds. I just get angry when someone attacks our personal choice - what I name my child affects you in no way.
Being pregnant does not mean you need to use the electric scooters in Wal-mart.... let someone who actually cant walk use them!
I saw a girl the other day teenager at that looked about 6 months pregnant using the damn thing and her mother was with her walking. My mother would have been like " if you dont get your big ass up and walk Im gonna kick you off that thing" lol
That would have been my mom, too! She worked through her pregnancies, on her feet everyday, pulling 12 hour shifts as a hospital nurse, and always told me: "Pregnancy is not a disability, and it sure isn't an excuse to be lazy and helpless for 9 months."
I had to use one when I was 35 weeks PG with my twins. We had a bunch of last minute stuff I needed at Target. I was on modified rest so I could do some light errands- but I couldn't walk around Target for an hour. I wanted to pick out some stuff myself, so I went with my sister and used the scooter thing. Who cares?
Some women are placed on modified rest pretty early in their pregnancy, so I've never assumed that a PG woman using one doesn't need it. I always just assume she's got some kind of complication.
My last name is a very unusual Spanish last name so I only spell it. Like I said, name your kid what you will, but don't look at me funny when I don't know how to say it or spell it.
One of my friend's just named her baby Tadgh (or something), said Tyg, like Tiger. I liked the name, but she got a bit bitchy when I emailed her back to say congrats and ask how you pronounce the name.

If PG shouldn't be considered as an excuse to be helpless, blaming the hormones shouldn't be someone's excuse to be a b!tch. (or b!tchfest: someone posting accusing others that it must be the hormones)

Well I'm glad you could get your points across without resorting to patronizing me. Good job.
I'm curious though. What do you do when a store doesn't have those spots? Do you refuse to shop somewhere that doesn't cater to your need to park 10 feet closer to the entrance?
Very few stores (at least around here) have those spots, so that would limit errand running quite a bit.
It depends on how close I can get to the store - or cart corral. My biggest issue is finding a double cart. Most stores around here keep them in the store or right outside as opposed to the cart corrals. So if I have to park really far away from the store, I have to put my girls in their double stroller, wheel it to the store, grab the double cart, go back to the car, put the girls in the car, put the stroller back in the car, and go back to the store.
That's why I'm happy for the family spots! So much easier to hold their hands to go a few feet to a cart than the above process!!
I was just in the elevator with two able-bodied women who were clearly too lazy to walk down two flights of stairs to go outside and have a smoke break. This infuriated me, partially because I work in a tall building and think it's ridiculous to take the elevator 1-2 floors if you are capable of taking the stairs and also because I hate smokers.
This!!! I work in a hospital and it drives me bonkers when people will not use the one flight of stairs to go down to the dining facility (or back up to the main floor). The lunch elevator traffic is ridiculous enough without having to wait until all the first floor people go down one floor. The people on the upper floors are stuck waiting.
So you're the Tarah that gave the whole world the idea its a common spelling. Sheesh.
I always wondered why there weren't more Tarahs in the world, there are plenty of Sarahs.
You can thank my mom! Growing up, I hated it because I could never find personalized stuff on the shelf. Now, I love my name & the spelling. I always wonder why people think it's pronounced "Tar-ruh" too - it's like Sarah but a "T" instead of an "S".

Yes. Yes, I go home without my milk and diapers because I can't park as close to the entrance as possible.
I park where I can and we all survive. But do I appreciate stores who have the foresight to consider moms with small kids? Absolutely. And you will, too. Sorry, but being a big sis and nanny =/= being a mom to young kids (while pregnant). You'll get it. Unless you live somewhere perpetually sunny and 70 degrees, I guess.

I'm going to jump on the abnormally-spelled-name-train: My name is Kaela (Kay-la) and it is butchered by almost every person who reads it aloud.
My UO regarding names is that I hate almost all names that use a "y" in place of a vowel, like Hayden, Brayden, etc.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but do you know her medical status? Have you talked to her doctor? What if she's pre-e or has a heart condition that is already perilous being pregnant? What if she's on modified bedrest and while she's allowed to go to stores she needs to be seated? Do you know if it was multiples and she has an incompetent cervix and must remain seated as much as possible? No. No you don't. Don't judge until you've been the pregnant lady getting the side eye with no choice but to sit because your doctor said so.

I want to put these on DH's two door sports car. But, only with 20 kids and three wives. Because let's face it, that would be awesome. If I find a good deal on them, I'm totally doing it for April fools' days.
That would, indeed, be totally awesome! I hope you find them and if you do, share pics!!!
As for UO, I have to agree with the Cadbury Cream Egg haters. I always WANT to like them but never do. I also hate Candy Corn (or Kandy Korn, if we want to be unique about it...) :P

I thought it was obvious I was being factitious. That's just my point though. You guys made it seem like it was NECESSARY to have those mom parking spots, which it obviously isn't.
Also, seriously? The whole "you'll understand eventually" *pat on the head* shiit is really getting old... already. Seriously.
This is what she originally wrote, to which I replied "this."

How on earth did you understand from that statement that she (or I for agreeing) implied that it was NECESSARY?

I mean, great for you guys and for your mom, but seriously, you have no freaking clue what that girl's story is. Pregnancy does some weird freaking shiit to your body. For all you know, she could have sciatica, or SPD, or other back/hip issues. Or maybe she was disabled before she was pregnant. Or maybe her doctor restricted her from walking for more than a few minutes at a time.
Major side-eye to this.
THANK YOU! From someone who suffered from severe SPD while carrying twins.

If you're 35 weeks pregnant with twins, you're showing, and you're probably looking as if any moment now you could go into labor. If I had seen you in Target, I wouldn't have thought twice about that. In fact, any woman who is in those 30-weeks marks can do whatever she wants -- park in the fire-lane for all I care, drive your personal car through Target while doing last minute shopping -- in my opinion.
My comment was aimed at the fact that this girl is a teenager and "appeared" to be about 6 months along. If I saw a teenager who was pregnant and wasn't about to pop any day now, I'd think judgmental thoughts in my head and I'd immediately assume she's lazy.. the same way I judge the girls on "16 and Pregnant" and the same way I judged high school classmates who got pregnant with band-aid babies before graduation.
Now, as I also mentioned later, I'm aware that in a situation like this, I would have had no idea what that girl's situation was - whether she was (a) a legitimately lazy chick or (b) suffering from an ailment - and perhaps this makes me a bad person, but I would have still made an unfair judgment on her in my mind. I wouldn't have confronted her or ever said anything to her, but I certainly would have thought it.
I feel like I should have added a disclaimer to my comment (in the "Unpopular Opinion" thread of all places) making sure people know: My comment is not a personal attack on anyone. So, if anyone felt personally attacked by what I wrote, please know that it was not my intention and I apologize for making anyone feel as if they had to justify their individual circumstances.

Just wanted to add something here that no one has touched on. How do you know she was a teenager? Some women look much younger than they actually are. I was 22 during my pregnancy with Brendan and got side-eyed looks all the time, most likely because DH and I look much younger than we are. We even got a tongue lashing from one of our new neighbors for "living in sin as teens." This woman apparently thought we were younger than 18 and unmarried... I'm 23 and DH is 27.
I know there was another woman on the June 2011 boards who went through very similar reactions to her pregnancy. She is in her low to mid 20's and looks 17 at best. She had to deal with judgey women looking down their noses at her all because she was blessed with good genes.

I hate unloading the child and groceries and then having that split moment of having to push the cart back a long distance.
Yeah, I leave the cart right next to my car in the parking spot. Unless the cart drop off thing is right next to me I'm not walking it back.
So what you're saying is that having a kid gives you the right to be a lazy brat?
I absolutely cannot stand when people leave their shopping carts in the parking lot. This past year I've had 3 of them mysteriously roll in to my car while I was in the store shopping, causing damage that I had to pay for out of my own pocket because someone was too lazy to put it back where it belonged. If I had seen any of these people, I would have lost my sh!t on them.
100% agree with Whim. Put your cart away
It's ok ladies, you'll understand once you have small children.
I have 7 month old TWINS and STILL manage to put my cart back where it belongs. It's common courtesy and the right thing to do. I guess integrity goes out the window for some when a child comes into the picture. Thankful that I'm not a member of that group.
As far as the pregnant/small children parking spot goes, I think it's great that society has chosen to recognize women/families in these situations and extend a small token of convenience to them. We're told that pregnancy is a beautiful thing, wonderful time in a woman's life, special time, etc... What's so wrong with a few amenities directed toward pregnant woman? If you want to use them, great! Do so as long as they apply to you. If you don't want to, that's great too. Walk and get some exercise. Regardless of where you stand on the issue, don't think for a second that you have ANY right to judge others for what they choose for themselves. And just to be clear, this should be the standard for all situations not just whether or not they choose to take advantage of a parking spot.

I was stopped when DS was about 7 months old and told by a WalMart greeter I was "too young to be havin' babies." I was 23 and married! I was wearing a wedding ring!!
I never leave my cart out of a corral, not just because my car was hit by a cart at 70 mph (because someone just left it in the middle of the lot) and left 4 dents and a ding to the metal but because my H used to work at grocery stores. Someone has to get those carts when it's 12 degrees and snowing sideways! And it's usually the someone getting paid minimum wage.
I also dislike it when people sack my groceries at the grocery store. I prefer to do it myself. This last week, my grapes were in the bottom of a heavy sack.

Oh man, I am SO late for this, but I just wanted to add:
I love my minivan and I am still freaking cool.
At one point, I had a 3 year old, a 2 year old, and a 1 month old....and I have never once not returned my cart to the corral. And my baby was born in December...and I live in the northeast where we definitely have snow/freezing cold...and my 2 year old (now 4 year old) is a RUNNER, which means I have to hold his hand every single second or he will be GONE. I don't think "Just wait til you have a baby" is an excuse.
And sorry, I'm totally beating a dead horse here.

This is what she originally wrote, to which I replied "this."
Oh, honey. LOL. Talk to me when you're hauling a 3 year old and a 2 year old into the store in the middle of winter when you've got m/s so bad you can hardly stand up. Methinks you'd have a different opinion on the family parking spots.
How on earth did you understand from that statement that she (or I for agreeing) implied that it was NECESSARY?
THANK YOU!
From someone who suffered from severe SPD while carrying twins.
On the radio the other day I heard her cover of 311's "Love Song". WTF? Sorry. no. Just no.

Bahahahahahaaaa!!! I do now. Seriously though.. my blood pressure shot right through the roof on that one.
Sorry!
