VBAC after c/s?

Hey ladies. So I was wondering for those that have attempted or will attempt a VBAC post c/s were you told to wait a certain amount of time in between pregnancies? I am pg with #2, at 5.5 months pp and was going to be a great candidate according to my MW for a VBAC, but not sure if this will change things. I will obviously ask her at my first appointment, but in the mean time, was curious as to if anyone else had input.

Congrats!  There is a small increase in UR risk when the interbirth interval is less than 18 months, but your overall odds are still low.  Some providers are fine with that and some are not, so it will really depend on your individual midwife.  I know we have had at least one poster who had a VBAC with less than 18 months between births.

The hospital I had my c/s at and the home midwife I have now require 18 months between, but I've heard of providers that don't have that requirement.  If your current doctor won't, I'd call around and see if you can find one that will.

My due date is 14 months after the birth of my first.  I consider my doctor to be pretty conservative, and she didn't mention a minimum amount of time between births for a VBAC.  She talked about all kinds of other factors, but time between wasn't one of them.

I was told I could get pregnant, and Dr. recommended VBAC, at my 5 week PP visit.

Haha no problem. I have my first appointment on 3/19 so I'm sure we'll discuss it then!

I hope you don't mind me adding to the thread! I'm new, but I found this thread through a google search. I'm in a very similar situation to you, my LOs will be 14 months apart. I live in Binghamton, too, and I'm wondering who your MW is? I haven't seen my OB yet to ask about VBAC, but there is very little info on the internet about VBAC in Binghamton, and which doctors will do them!
