Moving?!?!?! (Possibly long)

Soooooo DH called me this afternoon and asked me what I thought about moving to Omaha. He said that he received a call from a company there that offered him a job that he was really excited about. It also offered over 2x his current pay and amazing health insurance (which DH and I currently do not have although DS does). I have 2 uncles, an aunt, and 2 cousins that I am close to that live in the Omaha/Lincoln area and that is around where my mother was born and raised so I have been there 2 or 3 times a year since I can remember. I am currently a sahm so I do not have a "current" job that would hold me back. I say "current" because I am currently PRN (as needed) at a hospital close by until I choose to come back. We have always talked about moving to that area as we both like it, it is only 5 hours away from where we live now, and is a great community! With everything going for it, why am I so nervous?!?!? I am petrified to leave because my mom and I are so close and she is unbelievably close with DS and I am afraid of them loosing touch :-( We also just purchased our first home in July of last year. It was a forclosure that we have been working on to remodel and are 65% completed. We would still have so much to finish in order to sell our home although because we got it at such a steal, we could probably sell it now and walk away with quite a bit of profit too. Geesh. Why am I being such a worry wart :-/

Omaha is awesome, IMO.  And really Wichita to Omaha isn't that far and its an easy drive....(says the girl who lives in KC).  Is your mom retired?  Can she come visit a lot?

She is not retired but is a teacher so he has plenty of vacay time. It will just be hard on DS and I not having her around every day and it hurts more knowing how much it will crush her :-(

Do it!  I am a totally snobby southern californian (haha) and I love Omaha!  The little downtown area with the cobble stone and the cops on horses is so cool.  Plus, I hear that area is a hot spot for hospitals, so if you ever did want to work you would be in great shape.  Sounds like a wonderful opportunity for your family.
