Another question: Nighttime potty training? How?

At what age did your child stop wearing a diaper at night? And how did you approach that kind of potty training?  Thanks!

Knock on wood, but DS just kind of night trained on his own about 5 months after day training.  I did cut way back on liquids after dinner (one tiny sip before bed, that's it) and make sure he peed before getting into bed.  He just started waking up dry, so we took away the nighttime diaper.  No accident in 3 weeks now ... knock on wood.

I guess I was under the impression there wasn't much training to be done for the nighttime, just limit liquids and they'll get there?

These things are related. Nightime bedwetting (in older kids) can sometimes attributed to constipation or just the need to poop. All the poop in the colon doesn't leave any room in the bladder. I notice a lot that when Emily has to poop (she holds it for 2-3 days now), she has to pee like every hour. Last night I actually had to change her overnight diaper twice. This morning, she pooped FOUR TIMES in the potty. Almost an adult amount . I'm not even sure where she had room for breakfast really!!!

For most kids, you just have to talk to them about waking up in the morning and what the non-diaper routine is going to be. We put the FP Froggie Potty in Abby's room once she was mature enough not to try to pick it up but she as already 3. We told her "If you wake up and have to pee, there you go". Emily is SO not there yet, she tries to bring us her pee all the time. So she can't have a potty in her room and I don't feel safe about her having unlimited nighttime access to a drowning hazard with that big ol' head of hers. Anyway, with Abby, we had her sleep in just a top and got some of the disposable cloth diaper liner kind of things. It's basically like a huge pantyliner but it worked because she was still in panties. A self made pull up I guess.

No advice here because we seem to be struggling with it again. He's gone through phases when he'll stay dry and then when he seems to regress and pees every night despite no drinks after dinner, peeing before bed, etc. Nothing has really changed so I don't know why he'd start peeing again...hope this ends soon though... It sucks washing his sheets all the time!
