After making a few soakers and posting my pictures here I'm worried that maybe I didn't felt my wool enough. I read that if you cut it and it cuts a nice straight cut without fraying it should be good, but maybe I should have felted more?? Do you think they won't work...

I think it is trial and error, but since the thrift shop sweaters are so inexpensive , it is really not a tragedy if you mess one up.
If I were you, I would just test them out- lanolize them, when they are dry, soak a prefold, wring it so it is very wet but not dripping, and put it inside your soaker. With a dry hand sort of squeeze theoutside and see what happens.
FWIW, I was worried about mine as well, but the two upcycled longies I have made both have held up with no leaks overnight 12 hours!
