My pediatrician told me to go by weigh. If you baby weighs 3kg (if yours DS is weighed that way) then he needs to be eating about 3oz every 3 hours. If you go by pounds then its 2oz per pound per day. Hopefully this helps.
My dr told me (at 3days old) to shoot for 30ml (a little over an ounce) every 2-3 hours. By 5 days he ate that about every 2 hours. Now at 2.5 weeks, he is eating 2-4 ounces every 2-3 hours... But like pp said, paying attwntion to weight and wet/dirty diapers is more important.
