I've heard of it being successful for some people, but it won't work unless your body/baby are ready. My midwife recommended just a little at a time to help but not necessarily put me in labor. She said the actual dosage for "starting labor" is like 2oz which is HALF my bottle. That scares me a little because you don't want to have serious diarrhea and get dehydrated before labor. So IMO I'd stick with small doses.

I think it's a wise choice you made. I'm super eager (just like everyone else) to have baby arrive, but it's the one OWT that I wont do. Diarrhea is not fun. ever.
My sister did this, she took 2 tbsp. About 30-45 minutes after taking it she had the diarrhea, it lasted about an hour, not of constant diarrhea but she needed to stay close to the bathroom for about an hour.
Within 2 hours after that she started having consistant contractions, my neice arrived 5 hours later without any problems. I have to mention my sister was past her due date and had been having inconsistant contractions for weeks prior and dailated to 4cm, so her body was ready. It wont work if your body isnt ready.
She has been practically forcing the stuff down my throat. She bought me a bottle and tells me daily to take it. My concern is if it is making me sick/ dehydrated, how is my baby responding to it. I dont want to make her sick or stress her in anyway.
I could handle diarrhea for an hour ( had much worse experiences during this pregnancy) but I worry about the baby.
