Intro with pictures: 35w1d due to PPROM

Hi everyone! I'm an occasional lurker who is officially joining the group. You all have already helped me so much! I'm a FTM just trying to figure it all out as I go.

After a completely issue-free pregnancy, my water spontaneously broke at exactly 35 weeks. Luckily I had returned home from a trip to Walmart when it happened. I was a wreck as it was, I can't imagine what I would have done if I was still in Walmart!! The hospital didn't make any attempts to stop labor. Landen Sage was born at 35w1d on 9/2/11. He was 6 lb 9 oz.. and 20 1/2 in. long --> big boy! Size and growth have luckily not been issues for us.

Landen spent 11 days in the NICU. He had RDS but after 1 dose of Surfactant and 2 1/2 days on a CPAP his lungs have been working great. His NICU stay would have been a good 5 days shorter but he had 1 aepnic episode that required a light touch by a nurse to bring him out of it, so they had to monitor him for a week. After a breathing study they determined it wasn't anything we needed to worry about. He had a small PDA that our doctor says he can't hear anymore. He has silent reflux, which is crappy, but we seem to have it under control now with Prevacid and feeding a little bit smaller bottles. (You guys totally helped when we were going through the process of diagnosing his reflux and getting meds figured out. Thank you!)

Landen will be 6 months old next Friday ... I can hardly believe how fast time has gone. He's approximately 18 pounds and 27 inches long. We started solids a couple of weeks ago and he loves them! Developmentally he seems to be somewhere between his actual age and adjusted age. Maybe he's just on the tail end of the range for his actual age, I'm not sure but he's doing great.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all and maybe helping some other moms out like you've helped me.

I love the picture with the tie!!! Great stuff. My DS arrived at 35w6d and he was just barely bigger than your little man, and had about the same issues. We had 5 days in the Special Care nursery and have had pretty much smooth sailing since. So happy for you and your healthy baby!
